An excellent presentation given in conjunction with Dr. Clarice Law’s program that offers the historical events that have shaped society and subsequently, family structure. Will discuss how parenting styles can influence child behavior and draw from contemporary parenting systems to develop relevant models for communication with the contemporary child patient and his/her family.

The California Society of Pediatric Dentistry (CSPD) is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider Approved by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to assist dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education.

ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry. Concerns or complaints about a CE provider may be directed to CSPD at (916) 231-2142 or to ADA CERP at

Credit is awarded on an hour-for-hour basis. Each attendee should claim only those hours of credit that he or she was in actual attendance of the educational activity. Participants should retain course certificate of completion for their records.

Original Continuing Education Certificates are subject to Dental Board of California audit and should be retained by the licentiate for a period of six years. Completion of these courses does not constitute authorization for the attendee to perform any services that he or she is not legally authorized to perform based on his or her license or permit type. Instructor Info:

Dr. David Rothman received his B.A. from the State University of New York at Buffalo and his dental degree from the New York University College of Dentistry. Following a General Practice Residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center and an Anesthesiology Residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania, he completed his Pediatric Dental Residency at Children’s Hospital in Oakland and the University of California, San Francisco. He became Chair of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry and is currently an Associate Professor of Pediatric Dentistry in the School of Dental Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Rothman is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He lectures nationally and internationally in the areas of anesthesia, sedation and pediatric dentistry. He has three children and lives in San Francisco.
