Course Description:
This course examines many of the common concerns in communication in a pediatric dental office with examples, exercises and humor.
Key communication skills will be discussed, demonstrated, and developed with workshops. Techniques using verbal and non-verbal communications will be presented. Many times, these same techniques can be utilized to change the tones or attitudes in a potential communication conflict situation so that it does not escalate into a “fire” causing a very negative situation in your practice.
Methods to assess and implement correct communication procedures as part of a risk management plan will be presented. Utilizing these methods can minimize malpractice claims due to communication conflicts and miscommunications.
